    Check out the growth. http://socialblade.com/instagram/user/bitchslayings/monthly

They've been posting consistently for about a year then BAM! All of the sudden they're growing 10K+ per day.

Tried contacting them they wouldn't reply, obviously.

    - Its not solely because they've been posting a lot. People with similar accounts post the same amount and still don't get anywhere near this much growth. They've already beaten similar accounts that use to have way more followers a few months ago.
    - Its not SFS. I have never seen them do SFS. Nor have I seen any other accounts (I follow a lot) give them shoutouts.
    - Its not Like4Likes.

Anyone know whats going on here? Just all of a sudden they got lucky and got chosen by IG's explore algorithm at the end of december? Dafaq is going on?

Since IG suggests similar accounts, it could be a spike in popularity for that kind of content and this page was positioned for maximum exposure.

He has an average of 26 posts per day. All with different type of tags... Hmm, one of the reason maybe

Not everything is a "trick". The content seems tailored for IG. Female, meme-ish, etc.

Eventually you just hit a point where you start building really fast if the content is correct.

Also, he started posting more right around when the followers took off.

Anyway, I doubt it is a "trick". It's simply an account that had the right content and eventually the IG algo started suggesting him to everybody.

Like I said, not every thing is a trick.

Ahhhh........ I can say I have pretty good experience with this kind of accounts

What they do basically is make another unique username accounts (examples: fuckerydickery, hoenest, meangirls, relationships.usa, bitchslayings.s) and then this way they will get more followers. After that they just exchange shoutouts.

And when a page grows it starts to be on instagram's explore page.

At least thats what I used to do

I would say it is normal.

Niche is the key. Content quality and quantities. His post dominant the explore page.

You guys are missing the point. The answer is not "oh yes, they posted lots of good content". Compare it to other accounts like @Hoenest @bitchy.tweet @whoere etc. They all post a lot and they all repost each others content and they do not have the same growth rate as @bitchslayings.

Either they know something we don't or it is just a matter of luck and someone being about to each the right audience.

@hoenest had a massive surge in January gaining 330k.
@bitchy.tweet also had a massive spike in January gaining 270k
    @whoere gained 310k in February

They all seem to hit a massive spike that then fades off, my guess is that Instagram is testing algorithms on these accounts. They all follow a similar pattern and post the same type of content.

Someone I know had a comedy account and well his account took off when he posted something that went viral. Its all about the content and sometimes being at the right place and at the right time.

    Some things:

    1) He/she posts a lot. I notice an average of 25 or so posts a day. More posts = more potential reach through engagement.

    2) Good/fitting content. Seems very fitting for the teen and young 20s girl crowd, which is probably the biggest demographic on IG.

    3) Some of his content probably went viral at one point. Go look through those 11k posts and try to find out which ones, lol.

They have inside connections with people working at IG.

I guess he got lucky and IG pick the account up and start doing massive "suggestion" to it's users.

    Owner must really be happy/.

Is he monetizing the account at all? I didn't see anything in the bio. I did see one or two posts featuring Pink brand clothing, so maybe those are the ads.

Probably going to wait a while until he monetizes.

At 2.4M, the owner could have monetised at 1/5th of that.
