he said he used to be a member here and left.
he said he will transfer the whole site hosting and all to me and gave me his login info to check that the hosting is paid up until jan of next year.

ive also logged in to his accounts and hes making about $0.20 a day on this site.

he only wants $15 for it.

even if he got the domain for $1.19 on a godaddy special and somehow got hosting with 1800k+ speeds for $10.
hes already made his money back in the 2 months hes had the site.

its also not blacklisted from google and actually pretty high up for the keyword.

hes offering it to me for $15 and i just cant figure out why.
hes even willing to transfer everything into my name before i pay him.

if anyone has been scammed like this before and sees what im missing let me know.
i just dont see how i can lose here.

if he used this hosting to mass email or something will it affect the domain itself or just keep email blacklisted?

ps : i checked the code for any javascript or cookie stuffing and hes got nothing in there.
i will be changing the design anyway if i purchase this so it wouldnt matter.

its not the $15 im worried about.

its what he could have done with the domain and/or hosting that he needs to get it out of his name.

like will i be stuck taking the blame if he sent 1 milllion spams or did something else nefarious with the domain.

i dont know this guy. ive never even heard of him.

he got my YIM out of my profile and sent me a message.

I would assume not. If you have documentation saying that you bought it on xx date and that he owned it prior to that date.

i think its pretty safe, but if i were you, i would have gone straight to godaddy support and asked them about "this-kinda-situation" without telling them the real scene...that'll pretty much clear up the things

When evaluating domains you should look it up on mail blacklists...

    Then:

    www.mywot.com - (trust rating)
    www.compete.com - (trust rating)

And also google search it to see if anything unusual shows up referencing the domain.

it's still puzzling why he would sell it, but you know when you need the crack, you need it, uh...
