    do a whois, call the webmaster, tell them you are going to file a dcma unless they remove it immediatly

    if they dont, file a DCMA with google and get their website banned, send a complaint to their host

    Yeah it happens. Happened to me once - just send a C&D, call the owner, generally harass them until you can get it down. Just got too hope that they're easily scared.

    can someone give me a template of this letter ?

    The site is hosted on a free host which doesn't have a contact us or support mail...

    I just need a template of the letter. If anyone can help me with that :)

    file a DCMA with google. look it up on google on how to do it. they will check the records and see that your site was up first and ban/remove from the index the site in question.

    problem = solved

    if you had your site made online by some web designer, perhaps he/she is the culprit.

    anyway, just a guess

    are you sure its a copy?

    he could have setup a domain mask so his domain points to your domain

    Here's an example C&D:
    Code:

    If the copied site is on a free host, also send the letter/email to them. They are just as responsible. In fact, you may want to check their own terms and conditions page as I'm sure they talk about their users infringing upon copyrighted/trademarked content.

    The fastest way to get copy cats removed is to go after their hosting... Then go after their payment processors if they use one. And of course, go after them as well.

    @pauluk
    I was playing with httrack yesterday and it was able to download all the files including ebooks in most cases..some it didn't. I think as long as the ebooks are on their web server and not an external location it should be able to grab them.

    Yes it is possible. I used to know how, he probably just used a simple program that I used.

    What you can do however is first contact him, scare him into removing your material (images, videos, anything that belongs to you) make sure you tell him he only has 48 hours to respond. If he still odes not remove your content contact his host. File a formal complaint with them. Give them both a bluff stating that if your material isn't removed you will than contact http://www.ic3.gov which is the The Internet Crime Complaint Center. You have to make your messages very formal, and make your bluff's sound serious.

    BTW you can actually file a complaint with http://www.ic3.gov if worst comes to worst. Hope this helps :)

    Best Regards!
