There has been this guy calling my cousins husbands salon and harassing him about my cousin and her family saying really nasty things, She has 2 daughters and 1 son and there all under 12 years old. Hes been calling from a untraceable cricket cell phone, They called the police but they said they cant do anything about it. I would really appreciate any help!

He is calling from this number
    708-691-7240

I fail to understand why police isn't willing to help. This is clearly a police case. You must take up the matter to senior police officials and I am sure they will file a case against the guy who has been harassing your cousin's family. I am not sure how BHW will help in this, but if they do, then it'd be great. However, I would still suggest you to consider taking the legal route rather than posting it on an IM forum. Just my 2 cents.
I completely understand the situation you're at the moment and I hope that things get sorted out soon.

If the police won't do anything about it, they may not have told them that direct threats were made. If direct threats were made, and the police didn't do anything, I would try to record the calls. Most smart phones can do that. or if it is a landline, there are recorders that will work. Then go to the police with that.

Now that was my legal advice. As far as morals and family are concerned, if anyone threatened or brought my kids up in any way I did not see fit I would go to the ends of the earth to make sure that my family was the last people they ever threaten, including but not limited to making them a star on first 48.

I hope you get it sorted though, and I may even call that number lol.

Good luck -- we had texted death threats against my Fiancee, also they stated they would put me in the hospital, kill our animals and burn our house down -- went to 5 different state and local police dept, and none were willing to do anything at all. 1 even told me it was free speech! Easier for me, we found out who did it.
Is Cricket pre paid? If so its hard for the cops to do jack, but if not they should be able to do something -- get an attorney and drag them to the station with you -- CPD really doesnt care or want to do jack, why I no longer live there!

My best bet would be too not to look for advice that may harm or endanger your families life here, not as a negative feedback.. but constructive.
I suggest just sticking close to your own, not answer any of the calls, because of my own opinion if that him/her is just calling and not taking action, don't answer the phones and keep close reach on your family for a amount of time, also changing your number may be a good investment also, he could just be a creeper..

Spamming the number should be your last resort. I have faith in the police system, so I'd request you to try out that option and if it fails, then hire some goons to beat up the guy. LOL ... I suppose you can get the address of the guy through his contact number.

    Cheers :)

Recording the call is an excellent idea. But, I think the police officials can be suspended if they don't take a genuine complaint seriously. If OP has clearly stated them about the threats being made to his cousin's family, still they are not understanding the gravity of situation, then they're at fault.

trace location of that number may be somebody whom they meet in their daily life i have watched many similar stories like this in crime patrol get to any other higher officials if possible if the situation becomes worse but i doubt this is somebody playing around near you can catch him soon and hand over...

So now you have his name and city, which is a valuable information. Next time he calls, record the call, report to the police about it, tell the police his name and city and let the police hear what you recorded, and track this guy down.

Police can't do much about verbal threats. They're probably not going to track him down and arrest him, but getting as much proof against him as possible and taking it to the police is good just in case anything were to happen. They might get him to stop.
