Wow ok night just got weirder, Someone just created a fake account of me from my website and has added all my friends. Pretty sneaky technique...Don't know what they are going to do with it though. Does anyone know if Facebook are quick to respond about these things?

Ok this dude is obviously a marketer using a tehnique on me. Any ideas what can be done?

What hes done is setup an account using my web info and image. Then hes joined my college group and is inviting all the college friends from my year to be friends. Then he's talking with them as I would.

Now he's marketing my website to them then signing up for fan pages galore. I think I know which fan pages are his though because there are about 2 of them he has added out of the 30 which are making money. These groups are like 1 mill as well.

Any ideas how I stop this guy from spamming my friends? Or should I just get ruthless back and get his fan pages banned?

File a DMCA takedown notice on all his images if they are of you. Tell them that as the photographer, you do not authorize this use of your copyright photos. Facebook makes it easy. They will take down the images in a day or two.

    http://www.facebook.com/legal/copyright.php?copyright_notice=1

Then report the account as a spam account.

just post his pages here and they will be removed. Or tell him to stop impersonating you, and if he doesn't then post his pages here.

Wow, now that is a unique idea...I'm sure he is making good money. Ask your friends what he is promoting...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ do this..its happened to me a bunch of times...people using my real pics to ewhore......... but I do the same to a lot of people so i dont really care....... I learned from this and now I dont add anybody on fb that I dont know and everything is private... the downside is that people that dont know me think that I am some type of internet whore because they seen the fake profiles...but ooo well

He's also using the word "Signe up" instead of "Sign up" on every page could this be because Facebook spiders the site looking for words like "Sign up"?

Ah, this can only be summed up with one phrase... Love thy enemy. :)

You are handling this well. Before he gets shutdown make sure you send him some kind of ecard thanking him for teaching the technique to you. ;)

Let us know when and how he gets 'disabled'... it's facebook, so you will never get it 'deleted' :)

Wow. I'd be so ticked off if someone did that to me. Big time. I'd be writing FB in a second to have the clown removed.

Have you made all your FB settings private? Maybe that will stop it from happening in the future?

    Try

to test all your FB settings.

A useful tool, not yet compatible with the new privacy settings, but works great with the old settings page !
