Just got an email from somebody wishing to buy my domain.

They want me to email them a price back for it.

The email was from "Domain Names & Web Hosting Clue"

I googled it and GoDaddy came up. Is this a domain agent trying to buy the domain for someone? Is it legit?

Also how much should I charge? It's a .com domain which is currently parked and expires soon.

    Thanks.

    identity check offers.

Tell them nothing. Add the emaill address to your blacklist, and move on. It is a website appraisal scam. Let me guess, relatively new domain that you registered by hand? If you email them back, you will probably be told that in order for them to buy the domain, you will have to verify your domain value (AKA, just like ewhores ask for age verification) by paying for a 3rd party valuation registration or purchase (via their affiliate link of course, if it is even that legit), not to mention that ANY contact, even unsubscribe, just lets them know that you are real and deserve to be emailed with spam from several servers for as long as they do not bounce.

Determine your domain value. Online tools may be of help. I can't just recommend anything just yet I have not proven any sort of services. But I guess how much backlinks you have should be taken note of too.

I found this site earlier, which is an online website and domain calculator:

    mywebsitevalue.info

By typing and submitting your domain name will automatically allow you to know the following information:

    Page Rank + Directory Status
    + Domain Age
    + Amount of Traffic
    + Social Bookmarking Status
    + WHOIS Information
+ Amount of Backlinks and Indexed pages
    + Domain Value ($)
    + Add Page Rank Button
