I've just been looking through one of my old blogs that I don't really bother with too much now, looking though the spam comments that have been caught I found this:

Don't think they've quite got the hang of spamming yet!:p

Usually the spam comments are complete trash on my websites, but today on one of my websites the comments were actually really relevant to the articles they were posted on which was a huge bonus, quick edit to remove their spammy link and edit email then approve. Happy days.

15 comments today that look genuine and are relevant for a change

I've deleted about 60 comments so far, all spam!

Haven't found one that's relevant to the blog. Like I said, I don't really bother with it too much as I don't get many visitors but I found that comment a little amusing.

Just edit them however you like, make the comments relevant if they're not. If they say "I do SEO for you", change it to "Nice shoes article, what make are the best?" or whatever.

Yes and remove their link and email too.

I never thought of doing that, thanks. Might help the blog get noticed more and increase interaction.

I'm still a relative noob with IM, focusing more on my offline stuff these days.

i did exactly that for a site of mine, and ended up with a lot of comments. and guess what? i think google liked it. i went all the way to PR5, even though i still didnt get any traffic.

now i just install en spam and never see a spam anymore.
