Hi, I am thinking of getting some ".com" parked domains. All fine and good. Can someone provide quick tutorial, or point me to one (google was not of much help) so I can guesstimate the traffic.

Say I get a three word exact match ".com" domain, who could I tell how much type-in traffic it might get, without buying it.

    Thanks!

no there is no real way to tell how much 'type-in' traffic a domain is going to get before buying a new domain. If you are buying them off someone else, they will be able to provide existing traffic stats.

Using https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal you could sorta "guestimate" how much typein traffic your domain will get by look @ the amt of searches monthly it gets.

I have a nice .com that gets 49k monthly searches for its name, the domain gets about 70 type-in hits a day. 0.14% That might help you guestimate more. Earns constantly $3/day w AdSense for Domains.

Hardest part is finding a domain that isnt taken already. GL on the hours you'll be spending trying to find some gems if any are left.

Thanks, Venture. You probably have a two-word ".com".

But they are all taken. One can find three word ".com"s still (to register). But you are saying short of buying them, cannot really find out how much BlueSuedeShoes.com (just making it up) will get as type-in. I have heard numbers around 15% of the total traffic, but I don't know if that translates to 3-words as well.

Interesting that your stat at 0.14% is several degrees of magniture lower than published estimates....

hes getting .14% DAILY of the 49k.. in a 30 day month comes out to just under 4.3% still only a third of your guess, but much better than the way originally explained.

Yes, true, Wombat, my bad, that is daily. So 4% is smaller than 15%-20% but at least in the ball park.

Anyone has experience with 3-word exact .com domains. Any sharing is appreciated.

Fair enough. But having thousands of domains that say make 25% on the dollar each year, and don't have any upkeep is sure enticing !!!
