Some sample methods for Commission Junction?

I'm a college student, supposed to be working for 6 months and I got laid off, so I am basically getting college credits to sit on my butt at home. I needed something to make some extra money, so I looked into affiliate marketing.

I know methods are "secret" and people don't want to expose how they are earning their money, but besides running through Google and Yahoo ads, what are just some ideas to get going? I have heard of websites and youtube videos, but what about?
