Hey guys, I was reading on one of the forums posted here and I decided to try this method out. My method was changed and tweaked a little to boost SEO ranking (And so far it worked).

Here's my method.

1) Create a "watch 'blablabla' episodes for free" site

2) get a valuable domain such as blabla-episodesforfree dot com

3) SEO (got 1st page on google for a couple of search terms the next day on over 9 mil search results)

4) Use CPA lead and their new tool (gateway generator) to generate leads

My question is, Am I violating any copyright laws having the tv show name on my site and just adding forfree to the end of it. After the user puts his info in for a lead (survey) the site will then be revealed. The links on the site are links to another site that does not show the actual episodes.

Another question: would I be violating any copyright laws if I had images of the tv show logos such as simpsons or family guy.

:usa:

I'm not a lawyer but I don't think you'd be breaking any laws if your not actually putting the show on your site. As far as just the name of their show, i think that you should be fine. but as i said i'm not a lawyer :)

Well, I have "The simpsons" font and I put down the name of the simpsons and stuff. I was wondering if that would get me in trouble copyright wise since I'm not really copying any pictures. Just wondering =]

This is the actual site
thesimpsonsforfree.com
to show you what I mean.

I'm just a little weary about having the list of episodes there and having it link to my sale site. Any suggestions?

just curious how many hits a day are u getting, and what is the conversion rate for that site?

You'll probably get a CND within the week for using the show name in the URL and have to turn it over to them. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's probably what will happen. The content is irrelevant. It's the trademark you're infringing on with the domain.

On the other hand, milk it while you can because that's a hell of a domain and could bring a mountain of traffic before they catch on. :)

What about using a (free-)Webspace, that stands in Russian?
With that you will be far more secure, and don't have to think about law stuff.

i don't think it matters, i think for that to work you would have to live in russia :( its about where you live i believe, not just where it's hosted.

How about this:

You just do it. Make $1k from getting into the SERPs for your first month. Then you get C&D letter for domain taking away your domain name + income.

Or..

Choose a more obscure domain that won't infringe trademarks and reap your rewards better. It might be better to include the actual trademark in your domain for SEO purposes but it the risks clearly outweigh the rewards here.

There is always a significant amount of risks to everything. Since you have already purchased the domain, might as well milk it. But when you get the C&D letter, if you do, then feign an apologetic stance with some defence that you did not know it was illegal since the company you purchased the domain from allowed you to. Then ask them some questions on what is allowed and what is not. This way, you will get more info to do it all over again albeit in a less risky way.

use subdomains instead. like thesimpsons.forfree.com, prisonbreak.forfree.com They can't sue you for subdomains, i think.

Hey guys, google just banned my domain name. I think I might be getting this C&D letter =[

Any suggestions? I'm just gonna shut down the site.

Another question. The site hasn't been up for even a week yet. Can they sue me for this? I've only made around $8 in the past 3 days with cpalead.

I doubt they will sue you since you were not giving out free episodes for real.

But yeah this was asking for the C&D letter
