Hey every, I just have a quick questions to see if this approach will be effective. We have two websites that are very similar, in fact they are a copy + paste clone of each other on two different domains for two different audiences. The first website was established for a couple of months before the second and if currently doing quiet well. The second website however is suffering dramatically. We are going through each product and writing a whole new description, in most cases the new descriptions are better than the old. Some of the pages are not even indexed on the second website, despite having unique descriptions for several weeks now. Will these pages eventually get re-indexed or have we completely ruined this domain by having duplicate content on there at the beginning? Also, is it enough to just have different product descriptions? Because the two websites in structure and code are almost identical.

Structure and code in my experience has never been a problem - almost ALL my local leads landing pages are exactly the same template, and it's just ~200 words of varying text on each one.

I don't know about the other part of your question, though. Logic kinda suggests that G will detect the changes? If you use WMT on that site you can 'fetch as Google' and submit to index, and that will be effective immediately...

Ahh thanks for that. I am using WMT but with over 1600 products to change I would rather it take longer and let google do it naturally. I am hoping we can bring this site up to match the other in sales.
