I watched a video series by Je*n-Phil*ppe Sch*effel (can't remember what it was called, sorry, but I got the link from BHW)

And in it he takes you live through the site creation of an Adsense optimized site. He used free articles to populate pages and about a thousand keywords to make, in turn, a thousand pages for the site with a site generator. It was some Halloween costume site I believe.

The site is pretty ugly but sure enough once he has done the sufficient promoting he starts earning $ from Adsense. $3-7 a day or so.

    My questions are these:

As far as I was aware you get a major slap on the arse if you use duplicate content on your sites so surely sites like these would be so badly penalized by Google you would never get much, if any, traffic from them to start with.

And if that is not the case (and I do like the method of creating thousands of keyword pages for your site) is there a decent site generator that can do this that uses better templates because the site, as I said before, looked hideous.

I really am a stupid n00b so try not to scoff too hard at my ignorance in such matters.

I'm getting some hosting and a bunch of domains to go with it on Monday and want to start building some Adsense optimized sites. (volume being key to make those few dollars from Adsense a day turn in to $xxx a day for instance) but I'm hearing a lot of horror stories about Adsense and how Google can fuck you for making websites designed for Adsense alone. Especially the duplicated content issue.

I want to start on the right foot when I get to work building the first site of what I hope will be an extensive portfolio in the future so any clarification and tips would be most welcome.

    Cheers.

Mentalist, I think the key here is to re write the articles.

All you need to do is to trow the articles in a article rewritter and be on your way.

Be careful with rewriting though, if you want your sites to last a while, you may want to rewrite them by hand (or pay someone) because the content spinners tend to make the content unreadable.

Yeah, duplicate content will definitely have a negative impact and for the most part spinning software is worthless unless you're going to RE-EDIT what the software produces. Re-editing spun content might seem like a pain in the ass, but you'll be surprised how quickly you'll get good at doing it.

    Home Page:
never duplicate content, another thing adsense takes into account is productivity, if you have insanely low productivity on your clicks and they're generating quite a bit of income, if someone complains to adsense then they'll start to remove some of the higher paying keywords from you pool
