Some good article submission sites for hand submission?

I'm looking for a few article submission sites, similar to Associated Content and Yahoo Contributor, who are good for hand submitting articles. Even sites that have an approval process are fine... I just need QUALITY sites to submit to.

Have you tried Buzzle? They used to be a high-quality site.

Looks pretty good. What about the Examiner... are they good for manual backlinking of HQ articles? They look pretty interesting.

Google 'list of article directories' and you will find a number of lists with various details such as page rank, free or not etc.
