    Hi,

There is some idiot that creates webpages just for the sake of defaming others and I am one of the most affected by this practice. They created a page on their site that talks bullshit about my site/business so people wont visit it. The funny thing is that if you google my business, their page ranks 2nd or 3rd on the list which is preventing many potential people from coming to my business after reading the bad reviews from that page.

I wonder if there is a method to stop this, other than hacking their site which is out of the question. If I cant have that site disappear at all it would be fine if I can get it down to the second page of the search results at least.

    Thank you.

    Hacking is not allowed here.

I usually don't give advise on topics like these but if someone is genuinely defaming my brand without any reason whatsoever, then I would hire someone to spam unrelated backlinks on that page so that it would be bumped to higher pages of Google and not on first or second page. No asshat is spamming or destroying my business for reasons not classifiable, period.

Well, thats why I clearly stated "hacking is out of the question"> Since its in self-defense, I would hack them if I could but I cant so I am asking for an alternative.

As crazy4cs suggests, I think thats the only alternative here: black SEO. I hope you can give me some advice on that as well.

    Thank you.

Without analyzing the competitor it is difficult to say for sure if this would work. I think the previous suggestion of negative SEO may be more valuable in this situation. Spam blasting his site may have the effect of bouncing him back a few pages in SERP.

Usually the guys running these reputation smashing schemes are your direct competitors, or they might be extorters who will come knocking soon with their "reputation management" services.

Ignore theses guys, and just push your rankings higher than theses bad results. If you are above, none (except maybe a few) will go through the negative review.

Do not do this ^^ You could just as easily cement their ranking above yours. This is far from a guaranteed method for dropping rankings of a site.

Do this ^^ Outranking them is by far the better option and then you can send links back to your main site so it itself is ranking above these web2.0s

I wasn't talking about spamming with the real anchors, but bad sort of anchors, you know which ones. Either way, whatever floats the boat.

You can try to rank some video testimonials (YouTube) and review sites in the top 3-4 position.

Thank you everybody for your suggestions. I had already bought like 10 additional domains with websites related to my business site. They all appear on the first page but not up enough to outrank this bastard whose site seems to be quite strong. Reporting it to Google sounds like a good option at first, although I am not sure how supportive are those guys in this kind of situations. Black SEO seems like the best alternative now, but how safe is it? I mean, I dont want to end up making their site yet stronger than it is now.

It is a roll of the dice. I often see it helping them or google ignores it. Either way, you lose.

Your best bet is to register popular parasites in your niche with your business name and rank them. Cheaper than pumping up a bunch of newly registered domains and tends to work better.

To do this, register EVERY parasite and web 2.0 platform available. When working on my own off line business this is the first thing I do. Register every social and parasite account possible and build it up. Myspace, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Tumbler, Wordpress, Soup, Pinterest, Linkedin, ect.

Build these to your business using your business name as user name. Then build links to them to rank them. You should be able to out rank the 'review' sites which are ranking highly now.

Sounds like all you need is some link building to your additional domains. If you got the domains to the first page just with existing backlinnks links and authority you should be able to out rank the target site easily with some new links using your business as anchor.

You have to beat him on more than one level. What are the things they focus on which are bad? Turn those weaknesses into strength using a higher approach and authoritative viewpoint. Remember people like to pick and choose I have never decided on something off of one review. The objectivity required to make a decision sometimes bring better results because of the attention from controversy which causes a take side viewpoint, let me hear both sides and then let me decide approach is where most people come from if they are using the internet, top sites which advertise on TV are usually comparison sites like Trivago. I would ignore the ney sayers and extend into multilingual or what ever other features duplication variants and dominate to make the reviews insignificant.

You can't do much other than trying to bury their pages further down the list.
