This is not my "experiment", it's just an email I received from this email list I'm subscribed to. I thought I'd share it for those who may care...

Yesterday I did a quick experiment.

    I bought a solo ad from Fiverr.com...

I heard that the solo ad traffic on Fiverr is crap, but my curiosity won anyway :)

    Seriously.

How can you miss out on the offer that said something like:
"I will send your solo ad to my 40K+ active and responsive email list"?

    And just for $5!

So I ordered the gig, sent my email swipe with the link and anxiously waited..

Got a response a couple hours later that my solo is scheduled and the traffic will start to flow any time now.

Everything looked promising until the traffic started to actually hit my squeeze page...

The traffic was from safe lists!

    All of it!

    Yup.

Crappy, non converting traffic worth a s!@#t.

    The results?

    141 "visitors"
    2 opt-ins (new subscribers).
    0 sales.

Even though it was a measly $5, but what got me really angry was that the gig ad was very misleading.

    So.

    Lession learned.

No more solo ads from Fiverr.

Avoid it and save your money.

Sorry for the rant, just wanted to warn you in case you are considering buying email traffic on Fiverr.

Anyone who has decent traffic, wouldn't sell for less than 0.35 per click. So Fiverr solo ad gigs are utter rubbish

You did well to try, at least now you do not buy other services on Fiverr.
To know the truth you have to try with your hands and see if it works.

Wow... The first thing I said in my OP is:

"This is not my "experiment", it's just an email I received from this email list I'm subscribed to."

If they have a good reputation on Fiverr then they are actually exploiting a lot of vulnerable people but I for one, I would be extremely skeptical at being able to blast 41,000 e-mails for only $5. I know that would be a complete waste of money on the list owners part if they really did have that list. A lot of people are being taking advantage of and exploited. As long if it isn't for much like $5 like this for example then I don't really see what the big deal is. You just move on and make sure it doesn't happen ever again.
