    hey

I have got a website that I am working on right now. It is a very powerful domain and was related to solar energy in the past for a decade! I want it to remain relevant so that people landing on it will still find it useful but still want to monetize it further down the line. When I look into solar energy, its still a very research oriented field and I really cant see how I would monetize it and what should be my new niche. Solar energy related stuff is also quite competitive and when I mean competitive, I mean by means of big players like National Geographic, NASA and BBC :) However this domain is a very strong domain as well, so I am sure I will get somewhere in there, lower than previous rankings but still there on the 1st page.

but am struggling to think what specifically to populate it with. like may be go towards solar batteries, or may be solar cars or may be solar... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to pm me re this.

Thanks and Happy New Year to everyone! :)

Smart move thinking about the future and what niches to start in so when they become more popular
you are sitting in the drivers seat. Solar energy will increase but it will not be the only energy of the future.

I think Nuclear energy will be the future to be honest, but that's irrelevant really.

As tahworld has pointed out your site could have a decent cpc with adwords.

    Thanks for this :)

I basically went down this route myself few days ago but its assuring to see that this is what should be done.

Oh definitely, I think we will move towards all renewable sources of energy which would include wind, water, nuclear and solar forms of energy but this is if we survive and dont blow each other up using thousands of nuclear weapons we already have! :D

As for asking people living in UK, I am from England! and yes I know solar has issues but then it is being used VERY successfully in US as well as Australia and Middle Eastern countries have massive plans to overhaul their power structure using solar power plants. I do not disagree with the fact it is expensive at moment and a little inefficient as compared to other power generation means but it is greenest method too :)

As for nuclear energy, ask those living in Japan ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fukushima_Daiichi_nuclear_disaster read this. Although I do agree Nuclear energy will also be used alongside other forms of renewable energy. What will go out within next 50 years for sure is coal and natural gas for this purpose.

Oh, so you know its first hand then. :)

Regarding Fukushima... I can but revert to the story of Thomas Edison - the guy who invented the light bulb. Along the light bulb, he had a great plans to make electricity mainstream. Edison was promoting DC (direct current), and his rival George Westinghouse was promoting AC (alternating current).

Edison tried to convince the world that AC is too dangerous to use, and Westinghouse claimed that it will cost a lot of money to use DC, because it required copper wires. Edison went as far as roasting a prisoner with AC for 3 hours, in order to show the world how dangerous the idea is.

Guess who won? :) Same is going to be with Nuclear Power.
