Is anyone building manual Tier 1 links but using high quality links from their software (the type most would consider tier 1) as their tier 2 links, and building on those with additional tiers? I'd be curious to know if it's working for anyone, as Google's reference to going more "upstream" scares me regarding building automated tier 1s and even low quality tier 2s...

    Hi mate.

I tried doing this and had some decent results using Magic Submitter. As long as you don't go overboard with your lining, you should be fine :)

I use 2nd tier links mostly to index tier 1 faster...i don't overdue it, hopefully Google will not go upstream (as in killing tiered linking).

Tier 1 should always be manual. And tier 2 onwards it should be softwares.

I guess that's the thing: I plan on going "overboard" but not until the software Tier 3-4 level (which in total would be tiers 4-5)

Please tell us how this goes, I tried using making tier 1 links using submitter with low keywords.
Gonna wait two weeks to see how things go.

Tier 2 soft ware linking is definitely the way to go though imo

Always build main tier links manually to optimize in careful manner. Also in tier 2, build the links in drip feed manner or blast and index those links in drip feed manner to look more natural for google eye's.

They WILL upstream sooner or later. Simply put links to non-related places in T1 (not only wikipedia, too obvious, but to similar sites as well).

Great advice as far as diverting the upstream bots.

There really is no reason why it should not work, its all about careful and well planned link building.
