I have been thinking about this for a while.

Forum post can send a lot of traffic. I often see a sudden boost in traffic and realize that someone have posted a link to my site in an active forum.

You can create this boost yourself by posting links in relevant forums, but it is very time consuming to write posts and often you will be banned if you sign up and post a link right away.

But if you don't start the thread your self and instead post helpful answers to other peoples posts you will get a far better response.

The problem is that it is very hard to find relevant posts that discuss the topic or product that will make a link to your website a natural contribution.

So here is the idea. A software that monitors a list of forums for new posts containing your keyword. When the software find a new post it sends an email to you right away. This will insure that the thread is new and active.

It is important that the software sends an email because this will make it easy to outsource the actual posting.

Heres an example. You want to promote a new article submission software.

First you add all the relevant forums you want to monitor. Then you define your list of keywords. Keywords could be competing product names. So when someone discuss your competitor, you will get notified and add a post that mention your alternative solution.

In many niches there are hundreds or thousands relevant forums. And a relevant forum post can easily bring 100 or more visitors. With just a few post every day you should be able to bring in a lot of new visitors.

What do you think. Is this a software solution we need?

Sure as hell sounds useful. I'm not a coder so I can't even fathom how it could be set up, but I do know that anything semi-complicated tends to be not worth a ******** anymore.

Just look around, we have all these tools that we keep "buying", and most of them make me so aggravated that I end up dropping them and going manual most of the time. The only exception is good ol' scrapebox.

What if you had it set up to search only the page "new posts" on the forums of your choice.. the thread should show up there first, no matter where in the forum it really is. Dont know how much help that was.. just a start, i guess ;)

I don't think that it is that complicated to code.

It is basically a search engine that checks the time stamp and look for words in the post. If the criterias you have defined are met then it saves the the information and sends it in an email.

If you outsource the posting you will not have to do anything your self. And you can scale it down so the email is not instant but once a day or once a week. Then you just need to hire someone who will do the posting.

That is what I like about it. It is free of work if you outsource. It is also steady link building with a side effect of direct traffic.

Freelancers could easily build a service around a tool like this.

There must be a bunch of tools already available for account creation and and for posting with premade spun templates.

Like the idea that it scans the relevant forums - how do you define relevant forum? I mean do I have to add them as a user of your software?
Acount-creation and posting must be part of this.

It's not as simple as it sounds if you want to automate it all, which could be awesome. I would want that - great idea!

Great to hear some response. I was thinking about keeping it to my self, but hey this is the best place to brainstorm on an idea like this.

@howdoyou: Sure why not. Can you show me some of the work you have done?

@seo20: By relevant forum I mean a forum related to your niche. If you have a hifi website and want people to come and read your product reviews. Then you would have to manually find a bunch of hifi forums and add them to the "forum list" in the software. Your keywords will be the product names of all your reviewed products. Now when someone discuss a product that you have reviewed you will get notified. Then you sign up for the forum and post a very relevant reply with a link to your review. This link will bring a lot of traffic and not crap traffic, but traffic that is looking for exactly what you offer.

Account creation and posting are not essential the way I see it (but nice features of cause). Many freelancers will create accounts for $0.15 and post for $0.15 and even lower rates. From the niches I have experience with 10 posts can bring in 400 - 1200 visitors and the price for that would be (0.15+0.15)x10 = $3

I would not mind paying $3 a day for that traffic and remember it is also 10 relevant back links.

For the freelancer it is a very easy and well defined task. He receives an email everyday at 9 o'clock and by 10 o'clock you can expect a rapport from him.

So who will code this and get rich? (Just remember that I got the idea and hey lets work on it together and share the millions [IMG]...)

i've allready started on it. lol

also, no need to pay people to make the posts, the software can be 100% automated in finding forums, registering on the forums, and finding new relevent posts basid on your keywords.
a nice little dialog pops up and has the thread open and ready for your responce.

Iam working on a similar idea but not for forums, rather high traffic relevant blog posts monitored for your keywords. Just imagine you post a relevant link on a very high traffic blog post which is very relevant to your website. bunch of targeted traffic boost daily?

How about getting an email with 100 such latest blog posts daily?

may be later I will utilize the same technology for forums as well, simple tweaks I guess.
