Social media...how to use it

Ok,

so ive set up a few blogs...each with around 20 unique articles. Now im trying to use social media to promote them. So I...

1. Go to socialmarker.com
2. Pick the article I want
3. Submit it to all the best sites, and ******** sites.

After spendign hours doing this, i look at my traffic stats and see that each blog got maybe three unique visits according to analytics.

Am I doing something wrong here? Arent you just supposed to submit it, and theoretically you should at least get something. Everyone raves about social media and how you get easy traffic, but am i missing something?

U have done remarkably well and got the good results altogether. I think u should regularly twit for ur blogs so that it can get more exposure.

You are mixing up social networking sites with (social) bookmarking sites. Bookmarking sites aren't going to get you much traffic. When people mean social media, they mean sites like facebook or twitter. You get as many likes/followers (or what-have-you) as possible. Without a base to market to you can't expect any traffic, you have to promote your social media properties to get anywhere.
