Well, like the title says, I've been building up what I thought was going to be a big social bookmark project (the idea was to create templates for 200-250 sites to reg/post), but 99% of them are not having their link dropping indexed into google (in fact many sites have <3000 total pages indexed into google).

Reddit, and a handful of other sites are both d0follow + regularly indexed. What is the point of bookmarking? (yes i know it will get things indexed, but digg is like an instant indexing button it takes a single link to a site to get it indexed on there, so why bother with other bookmarks)

Exactly... just what i said in this thread.. why bookmark in all bookmarking sites in the net when you can focus on 3 sites.

My experience is that indexing helps with rankings, but what matters the most is bots crawling the links even if they never enter the index. A link getting indexed means that it has value, therefore that "vote of confidence" towards your website is important. Tons of other less important votes don't hurt at all, especially since bookmarking has become a commodity nowadays.

Well there's more than 3 sites, just not THAT much more :18:

I have 12 that are indexable and have a high PR (d0follow) I also of course did dig and stumbleupon, as they're stupid easy to get crap indexed with.

Still looking for more to add, but it's not looking good.

What leads you to believe that indexed n0follow links are worse than unindexable d0follow links?
Just curious... as you can make 10,000 stumbleupon and digg links to your site a month without much effort.

I never compared Do & No-foll0w links. I am just stating that indexing is really good, but that non-indexed links count as well. In the same vein, no-foll0w links count, they are not useless as many people believe; they just have less impact compared to do-foll0w ones.
