So you want to become a blogger? Here is my take

You had mentioned some great point quality content, hosting, but keywords might be a problem for me to rank in these days.

I tried adsense on travel blog, but it won't make much revenue.

I dream of blogging and making money of it but as somone above me mentiond its insanse to sit and wait for organic traffic to flow in :(
maybe a mix of BH and actual blogging with HQ content would work?

Awesome advice:) The problem with most people who want to blog for a living is that they want instant gratification. They want to earn money immediately, and as many have already pointed out, there is no get-rich-quick scheme. Some may earn money while starting out, but not everyone will be as fortunate. These things take time, and unless one is willing to put in the work required, he/she can't get the desired results.

Besides, money shouldn't be the goal. Making this the goal is like starting on the wrong foot.

So What I Noticed And What I Do :-

  • Always create quality content - Yes That's what I do.
  • Never steal or reword anybody else' work - If I steal I gave that man credit for that.
  • Make sure you use relevant keywords - I never used keywords its just that they already include in my content (yeah i am that hell awesome of a content writer)
  • Don't spam your work all over the internet - I never did that.
  • Don't pay for click programs, or hit generating websites - Neither did I did this ever.
  • Love what you do, Love what you post about - I love what I do and that is dance.
  • Really go in depth with your writing - I don't need to i am already in depth.
  • Make sure you have quality web hosting that doesn't go offline all of the time - I have godaddy's hosting and they are providing me good service
  • Solve people's problems on your website - There has never been a problem.

I have a fairly high traffic blog, but I don't try to make any money on it. I probably should try because I get a lot of visitors, but... then I would feel I had to be tied to my blog.

The checklist you've created is really good, but the truth is that there is no recipe to make money. Yeah, there are some guidelines you should follow, but for sure you have to make a twist or to start getting money. It is the way it should be. If you are not creative, there is no place in the IM world for you.

This is true. Sometimes you will even find the way you originally planned to make money isn't even the best way.

It takes time and money to make money. The secret to money is sales psychology and execution in a timely manner with consistency. Look at all the name brand sites, and then look at Amazon and eBay. eBay has affiliates promoting them, tons of exposure, and then finally the illusion of cheap items (people confuse cheapest price with highest quality all the time). Amazon does what eBa does but better, on customer service and on fooling people into thinking they have the highest quality for cheap. Microsoft products, well the official Microsoft store is outsourced to smaller companies competing to sell their products on behalf of Microsoft. The cheapest is at the top, but usually from already pre used goods or factory damaged. Then you got the option used list and refurbished list, but users get around this and put new on used items. If you get the ideal behind this they use Microsoft name to sell products from Microsoft, but user these sellers as a tax shield. They already made money selling it wholesale, the markups are low but still with profits. Amazon takes a cut for the affiliates working hard to make money from them.

Their scheme is great, it'll always work because it's a nicely put together psychological sales machine rewritten for you to accept that Amazon is a secure source of cheap products, great quality support, and lots of money to be made on its branding. Th use affiliate slaves to do the heavy promotion of word by mouth that they can't buy from advertising or celebrity endorsement. Lure the cow to want to be milked and you'll get milk from it weekly or at least monthly.

TLDR: Go read it yourself you lazy!

Takes years to be honest to actually make blogging profitable.

Then how are some doing it as a full time job right now? I know that I could never make that happen but some people claim they are.

Nice share, i will be honest i didn't read this till the end because most of this things i already know. I would add to this that if you are not a writer don't go to blogging. People call themselves bloggers but they are actually buying the articles from different writers .
