Example: Daily Dose Of Internet (see attached). Is it really that easy to use people’s content, just by linking back to the original source? I guess most of them don’t own those clips either, but doesn’t ViralHog pay to use content, so why wouldn’t they be getting pissy and claiming against stolen clips

No. The content owner can decide what to do. If they feel like a link is credit enough, fine. If they don't, then they can go ahead and demand compensation or takedown.

Thanks, yeah I read something elsewhere and someone said you could get away with it years ago but not now. Apparently that’s the reason behind Daily Dose Of Internet posting less frequently now too.

It's gotten easier to search. Back in the day you had no video or image search, now you do. Easier finding copyright infringement.

No its about how the content is used, who the content owner, how much content used and for what purpose
