I'm very guilty of this. To me, it's almost like buying booster packs of Magic cards haha.

I thought I was the only one! I'm kinda similar to you
I buy the domain, setup the website, put a seo plan, get all content and then
move on to another idea!!! I need to go back on my previous projects and complete them

Anywhere in the world building WP sites.
Me too. I have been doing the same thing for 9 years.

I was up to 60 domains at one time, felt guilty, cut it down to 30 domains, but never less than 30. It is so hard to let go. I keep telling to myself I'm going to get into it soon, but that, of course, never happen.

Recently I've been implementing some of those in the weekend, with two at least are making a few hundred bucks each. TOTAL. I know I'm going to make more by growing my existing business, but seems like I am addicted to new venture. The excitement, etc, always win. And now I learn to nurture it

Maybe we're just an idea person or a good starter, i.e. an entrepreneurial type. We need a good manager and good technicians. Read E-Myth to know how to turn this into strength!

I register at least 10 a week, they're all great domains though, I regret not buying that many when I first started (2004), and have paid x,xxx+ for domains I could have registered back then, they're all perfect for the niches I'm involved with, I just see it as an investment, some people buy stocks, I buy domains.

I also buy premium domains though, not only registration.

When I used to watch auctions on flippa.com, I read people writing "I need money for another project", I was like this is BS!
But now I know it wasn't (at least for most of them..)

If your not doing anything with the domain, i consider it to be just an expensive habbit that needs to go. I used to do the same in the past, but learned that its a good way to waste money

WHoaaa.. looks like i'm in moderation then. Have about 20 domains... most of which go live when i'm the 'mood' that being said, using the tools I have I do manage to rank them and sell them off. My host (hostmonster) has to deal with atleast 1 email per week asking them to change my primary domain. But its all good.

Maybe we should open Domain Buyers Anonymous on the lines of AA (and that's alcoholics anonymous not auto approve)

I just bought one like fifteen minutes ago. I probably buy five a week, and maybe build two sites a month and follow all the way through with even less.

I'm Guilty too! It's like everytime I buy a few more, I'll say "well that should do it! I wont have to buy any more domains because I'm getting these ones and they're perfect!" and then let em sit on the pile. 1 week later I'll see more I want/NEED!

Every domain you own is one your competitors can't. In my niche theres one certain word that we all gotta have. So I like to think of it as insurance.
I throw most of them in blog networks, but some I keep for myself to age incase I ever need a plan B (or C, or D, or E etc)

I have more than 1500 domains I think. Most are being used though, even if just for a basic WP blog for indexing. The problem is really coming up with decent content to put on all the domains. Plus remembering to renew them in time.

    I am a recovering domain-oholic :)
Think I had up to nearly 150 domains bought on a whim or a beer fuelled 'ooo thats a good idea' thing, they all stayed doing nothing :(

Now down to about 20 that are for doing something with :)

Domain-oholics, think I'll go check to see if thats free to register.........d'oh!! ;)

I have dilusional visions of buying a good sounding domain, then instantly flipping it on sedo for big profit... So far none have made big profit, but I always purchase more thinking they will! Haha
