Never too long in one place.
So what is the real purpose of Youtube Tags, to plug keywords for searches, or to make the video come up as related video? Something else?

    Example

Suppose I have a video selling a Zojirushi rice cooker. A keyword scraper like Arsyn tells me that the relevant keywords are:
    zojirushi rice cooker recipes
    zojirushi rice cooker instructions
    zojirushi rice cooker 3 cup
    zojirushi rice cooker review
    zojirushi rice cooker manual
    zojirushi rice cooker costco
    zojirushi rice cooker parts
    zojirushi rice cooker 10 cup
    zojirushi rice cooker ns-wpc10

Should I use these as tags, or should I use fewer and simpler tags like:
    Rice cooker
    kitchen appliances
    cook rice

Would be interested in what you think, and why you think that way. If it is based on something you have read, something you have tested or if you are just guessing.

If you're trying to sell that then you need to attract people in a buying mood. So tags like "kitchen appliances" and "rice cookers" are bad. Tags like zojirushi rice cooker review, rice cooker review, best rice cooker are good (use words like review, best, most popular, sale, best deal, comparison). If you use "rice cooker instructions" then you're going to attract people who just want instructions and are not necessarily in a buying mood.

YT uses tags for the search engine, suggested videos, and largely for looking at relevance. It's not just tags by themselves but in conjunction with your title, description, channel keywords, etc.
