So what sort of backlinks seem to be working at this moment?

    So I keep reading posts on here of people losing rankings recently with many of their sites (Yes, this includes my sites as well). I had several sites dropped from their #1 spots (which they held for like 6 months) to #5-#10 and some all the way to pages 5-6.

    From reading the posts here it seems that people have concluded that G has devalued links from article directories, blog comments, profile backlinks, social bookmarking, etc. (these were pretty much the type of links I had been using for my sites that were dropped).

    People are also mentioning that any type of linkwheels created (automated or manually) are also not strong as well.

    So this leads me to my question of what exactly is working now? If pretty much all the methods that most of us use to backlinks are no longer valued, then how do we increase the ranks of those sites that lost their rankings and for new sites we want to rank?

    I was going to start a few different types of linkwheel methods to get my sites ranking high again, but not sure if it is worth the time. Just hearing so much back and forth from people that it does work and it does not work. Getting really confused now how exactly what method to take from here on.

    What is your take on your matter?

    well im losing my rankings too...

    from what i've seen, now google seems to favor sites that have paid blog posts as their backlinks. I know there are still tons of thin affiliate sites that could rank well and they are using TLA and the likes

    You are totally correct to note that Google has changed backlink weightings.

    Simple text links are out.

    Contextural Links will get you almost immediate SERPS improvement.

    Most of the backlinks you will be offered today will be either, simple text on blog profiles or blog comments. Tens of thousands of both can be done in 24hrs using Scrapebox, and because of that Google is now giving simple text links less weight in SERPS.

    If you watch the latest video by Matt Cutts, the Google Search representative, you will learn that contextural backlinks now have the most value.

    Contextural backlinks are links placed inside an article or blog post that are in the context of their surrounding text.

    For example an article on firefighting might have links to a firestation URL. These are quite time consuming to create and invariably need an image to get maximum Google juice.

    For anyone planning to create backlinks I recommend you to take 3 minutes to watch the Matt Cutts video on autoseosystem-dot-com

    If you recognise the change he speaks about. then afterwards use their FREE software create some contextural articles embedded with your own URL.

    For the last month I've been running an article submission service and myself / clients have had nothing but positive serp increases. I spin my article/title/summary with tbs and then only put the anchored keywords in the resource box. I've personally gotten a 5 pos. Serp push for one of my mns's main keywords in 3 hours by doing an article blast and right after blasting the live links with 10k auto approved blog comments. Anybody who is getting negative serp from articles is doing something wrong. But I just spoonfed you guys my exact blue print to article submissions which I've never seen negative serp from. Enjoy.

    mate im also doing contextual backlinks and the likes but those affiliate sites above me are investing heavily in paid blog posts. You can see at least 5000 of their backlinks in YSE are all paid blog posts. OK you can say some of the domains are probably his own (interlinking his own network) but im quite sure 80% of them are paid blog posts at least because I can see the same blogs that link to them also link to other sites in other niches, so what else if not private blog networks or paid blog review stuffs?

    Problem is, it's very expensive if I want to match their spending and I doubt it'll be really worth it (since I know how much did I earn when I was on the top). Yeah it is worth it if i can stay at top for 5 months or more but looking at recent aggresive changes by Google, who knows 3 months from now such paid blog posts would be discounted as well?

    Of course i have done a lot of AMR blasts and manually spin them, etc. but i dont think it's very wise to keep getting backlinks from simply article directories. I even have submitted a lot of posts to private blog networks which I believe would definitely help me to increase my SERPs. Apparently my competitors are just doing it better nowadays because I was doing variation with link wheels, SB, etc. while what they do is just buying more and more blog posts.

    AMR = Article spinning and submitting software called 'Article Marketing Robot'

    so an amr blast would be a big push out to a bunch of Article Directories using AMR.

    amr = article marketing robot

    blast = bulk submission

    He is talking about automated submission of spun articles to many article directories.

    What does contextural/contextual text link mean?

    I presumed that ppll just meant normal anchour text link but ppl above are saying that is something different?

    or are you guys just talking about context relevance of the page in question you are linking from?

    Can you do contextual links with article marketing robot? The only place you can link in it is through the resource box is that a true statement?

    from my observation in the past 2-3 days, there are more and more people offering blog networks nowadays. Yeah it's expensive indeed if you want to post in high quality blog networks but then i think that's what my competitors have been doing. I can see thousands of their links EACH to different blog, and they gained huge advantage from that.

    What i dont like is, these blogs are not related at all to their websites. Even the blog posts sometimes unrelated (such as traveling post giving backlink to weight loss site) but it seems to be working...i wonder where can I find good quality blog networks too in competitive price
