As with most people I have seen my engagement drop... I have spent years building up 5 accounts to now be sitting on 1% engagement.

I've tried disabling accounts for extended periods (this hurt engagement more)
I've tried not botting for months ( hurt engagement more)
I've tried targeting different tags, users, even my own following. Engagement never changes despite growing. I know I'm not ghosted as I've checked.

I had another account I grew to 20k but I left it to focus on another niche. I didn't disable it, just didn't log in or post.
I posted for the first time last night since July last year and my post only got 80 likes! lol the posts were reaching 1500 likes before that. Even though ive not been in it since July that's some serious drop... and I wasn't botting on this account.

Its really annoying these algorithms... even when not botting or doing anything wrong IG is limiting your engagement... I mean I have 20k followers... why punish me for not posting by not showing them my latest?

I'm getting a bit fed up with this whole engagement thing and trying to figure it out... it shouldn't be this hard, it shouldn't be a full time job constantly working to get your posts seen to your followers.
I really hope IG changes their algorithms soon because I think a lot of people are ready to move to the next platform that comes along.

I noticed the same thing ...

I think one of the main reason is that you don't post often enough, Instagram algorithm pushes you to the end.

Try to post regularly and see if there's a huge difference or not.

My engagement rate dropped too when I didn't post for a few weeks, however I prefer posting good posts once in a while than spam everyday with low quality posts ..

Maybe Instagram doesn't think that way ...
