Okay I want to open a website but I have a question puzzles me!
Wont I get any traffic until I hit google's first page of my keyword?
What if it takes me 6 months to hit the #1 page, Wont I get any traffic during this period?
That means 6 months of hard working, money investing (content, backlinks, etx.) without any earnings/traffic in return. IS THAT NORMAL/CORRECT?
And what if my site didn't make any rankings or stuck in google #2 page. does this mean I faild and I have to close the website?
What about you guys, I need some advice in this point.

lol Google shouldn't be your only source of traffic. It is just one of many yet it can be a huge one!

Try Social Media, paid ads etc.

#1 position gets 70% of the traffic.

    #2 gets like 15%

All the other billion results get 15% of the traffic. So being on page 2 will get you hits, but it's not gonna make you serious $$$.

Also, now you understand why Google spams the top of the results with their ads and their own results(scraped from wikipedia and other content producers), pushing organic results way under.

Are you sure that you are ranked? It is not just cache?
If you are really ranked on 1. spot which do not have any traffic then I doubt you was working on it 6 months:p

I wouldnt close site on 2. page

70%???? WoW!!! That is certainly a high number :)

Not a fucking chance you will get any higher than 45%-50%; most cases you get 40%.

With hummingbird seo has moved to more "long tail" imo, so many people are obsessed with ranking page 1 for big keywords, but you can still get decent traffic ranking for 100s if not 1000s of tiny long tail keywords which don't take months to rank page 1

quite true. And in comp niches, there's Ads above ur #1 result, 70% is impossible

I'm sorry. Page 1 gets 70% of hits, not #1 SERP. My bad, I stand corrected.

I think it still answers OP's question: without page 1 you won't be making serious $$.

A two prong strategy should be in order if you want traffic and income now, while your SEO traffic grows and stabilizes. Work on direct link through visitors from active traffic sources, while working on ranking the site in the search engines. It doesn't matter whether the links are do-follow or not, using this non-SEO secondary route, only that they deliver a lot of targeted, direct link throughs to your site.

Comment on decent sources like high authority related blogs, related high traffic forums, post videos, or on major sites like Yahoo Answers or Wikipedia (where possible), social media. If you're monetizing using a source that pays to Paypal, you'll get earnings 'instantly,' and your immediate traffic can tide you over until the passive search engine traffic kicks in.

What if my blog isin't selling anything and its only relay on ads clicks?
Should i search for paid traffic or ad some products from CB or Amazon and try to sell that true paid traffic?

I have 1300+ posts on one of my fashion blogs.

    5+ pics per post.

Every image is indexed on Google images on first page, without SEO or anything, only sitemap.

That was my first page and best earning Adsense site till now.

Try images, lot easier to rank.

You can also try facebook twitter pinterest and a number of other such sites depending on your niche to get loads of traffic. Google is not the only one

Do the monetization you are comfortable with. I would not be solely reliant on Google for both the traffic and the earnings source for a site.

For serious (hard to rank) keywords, you will make money even if you reside in page 3. Moreover do not forget: search engines will send you traffic from long tail keywords. To get that, focus on quality articles built around lsi keywords.

Oh I think that is a good tip.
So, If I make a post titled: "8 tips to learn how to make money online from home" and my keyword that I aim to rank for is "make money online" Google may rank my post for another keyword like"learn how to make money" and I will start getting simi-traffic from this keyword? Is that what you're trying to say?
And Do you have any other tips for getting traffic when I decide to build my site?
    Really thank you :)
