I got a notice a few weeks before my license was going to expire to have it renewed. Being an IMer, I often don't leave my house for multiple days, so I completely put it off and forgot about it.

It was brought to my attention by the ID checker at the casino that it was expired. I'm going to go get it renewed tomorrow, but I was told by a friend that I may have to take the driving test again. I was doing some research, but didn't find any definite answer to the question.

It has been expired for 2 weeks now and it expired on my 22nd birthday. Hopefully someone with knowledge about the DMV for this situation can give me some info on this.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I would think you might have a grace period, but if not the worst would be you need to take the written test. Did you get your license when you were 16 or 18?

btw .. what State are you in?

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, they have a rule; as long as the license hasn't been expired for more then two years, it isn't required for you to retake the driving test.
EDIT: Oh shit, just realized this was an old thread. Ignore me .-.

Sorry, this recently happened to a friend and I saw this thread on the similar threads section and I was like "Heh, I know how that is sealed with." ._.

No you don't just go to the DMV and ask to renew it
