I recently bought the domain for the name of a popular tv show on a popular network (how was it not taken?). Obviously the name is copyrighted so is there anything I can do with this, or if I breathe will I get sued/ordered to cease and desist?

Just make it a fan site, and make it clear that the site is not affiliated with the network.

Is there any worth in trying to sell the domain to the network?

    check domain history
it might have dropped earlier due to copyright issues

Unless they come to you, no. Generally, you don't want to antagonize a powerful corporation with an extensive in-house legal department (as most networks have.)

As long as you aren't making any money on that domain and claim it as a fan site, you should be doing fine.

Well you can embed full episodes of the show on your website straight from the network, which have quite a few commercials on them that generate money for the network. If I got traffic and more viewers for the videos on my site it would generate more money for the network.

Think they would overlook me making money off the site if that's the case?

No, this will definitely get their attention. They want people to watch the episodes on their site, not some other random site.

In my opinion, forget about the domain, write off the $10 for registration and find something else.

use it to your advantage. Milk it, get as much money as possible from it, extract emails, etc. Do everything you can.

If they contact you saying some bullshit, show them your terms and conditions stating the site has nothing to do with the network.

If they keep on bugging you, ask them to purchase the domain from you for a cheap price.

    Done deal...
