I think this kind of bussiness - selling SEO services - is waay too saturated . Everywhere I see adds with the best site ranking tehniques and best links on the net and blah blah...( those are the dudes selling the services on BHW ) .
    THEN
, there are BIGGER companies who are more trustworthy because they are older in the bussiness and they have much more experience and also have a great integrity site and other things... so I think the competition is REALLY BIG IMHO !

Im wondering myself if those BHW guys are reaching even 500$ per month...

So what do you think . It is worthing nowadays to start to learning SEO and selling a service or not?

    It Depends,
SEO Services my company offers are $1k and up being 1k is the minimum price.
We do get backlinks from sites like new york times usa today and other major news site even google news.
Automated tools CANT offer this service.
For Keywords that bring in alot of search we stick with ads through news sites .
Backlinks to be effective need to be a variety of do follow and no follow and most importantly be from authority sites like huffingtonpost

Senuke works but to an extent there is no needs to build tiers and tiers of links what you know what your doing.

Of course it is. Everything is saturated but that doesn't stop us. With that mindset you're honestly gonna get nowhere in life.

The hardest thing about SEO is that it is constantly changing and your skill sets need to evolve to keep up. This is also the upside, every Panda/Penguin etc etc change brings in a new wave of experts who understand how to rank sites "Right Now"

I am amazed at people telling me they spent $1000 to get their crappy website ranked but they do because everyone wants their site on the front page. I think we are only touching the surface SEO is a growth industry.

Agreed. I'm relatively new in the world of SEO (as soon as I really started Penguin/Panda hit) but if there's one thing I'm sure of it's that internet marketing, seo, and email marketing will never die, only evolve.

Back when I was making 6 figures in email marketing 10 years ago, I used to panic everyday because I listened to the fools who kept saying "It's going to die soon! They're going to stop spam! Email will die!"

Sure enough, ten years later, and email is still strong despite the evolution of social media, skype, instant messaging, and so on and so forth. I just sold a website and SEO plan to my doctor when I went in for an appointment two days ago. Most people have no idea how to even scratch the surface of learning a lot of the knowledge that many of us have, or they simply don't have the time.

As the web evolves, we simply have to evolve with it. To the OP, selling SEO services online is more saturated than ever, but that doesn't mean you can't get out there in your community and get clients. There will never be a shortage of people and businesses that need expertly designed websites with proper marketing.

    Don't despair! :)

Dude, give meh a break with those kind of filosofy, Im not sayin' its wrong , Im saying' that NOT EVERYTHING depends by how motivated you're ,ofc it depends, but your rate of success is not depending 100% by this, I have a fuckton of examples that i can give you( ppl very motivated and failed liek shit) anyway now we're too offtopic >.<

But from all those SEo service providers who are sayin' they are the best and from other bigger companies etc, why ppl will chose you ? For what ? This is why I think now starting a new service, will be very hard.... and thats why Im asking this, bcause I have a friend who wants to do this kind of servicing and he is imagining himself rich lol, he has not even starting it but I dont think he will do big think with the competition from today...

Ok , you will have have clients ofc, BUT I dont think too many... you wont even reaching 1k per month bcause of the competition...

It's all about how you market yourself and your services. $500 a month? You mean to say that you're doubting if the SEO guys here in BHW who has a service thread earn more than $500 a month? Most of them offer their services for over $100 per ORDER.

I don't think the SEO game is dying anytime soon. If you have the skills and budget to start a service, then by all means DO IT. Don't let anything stop you from doing what you want. :)

Yes, but even with an average price of 100 per package, even with all the marketing ,why they will choose you ? Bcause I see all the services are almost the same :( This is why I think is hard, and there is ANOTHER BIGGER PROBLEM :

-If I have a SEO service and I will say that I can put you site in the top most in google searches, then will be others with the same promisions ( and bcause they are older they have much more experience ofc) Then who will be on top then ?? Ofc them! Then, the clients will go on them, this is the problem , too many services but only some 'slots' on the first page! So if much more ppl will go and learn SEo and say they have great results , this wont workanymore, and only the best and the first in this kind of bussiness will survive. This is my prediction

You just have to find your angle and try it.

Someone already mentioned that you get out in your community. This is a good way of going about it, because there are tons of local businesses that don't have an online presence or have a very flimsy one. That's where I would start.

    Google tells me the following:

    Landscape companies 80 million pages.

Delivery company 1 billion, 730 million pages

    graphic design company 205 million

    Taxi services 133 million pages

    But only
    seo companies: 38 million pages

in those 4 verticals, there are exactly 4 number 1 spots.

No the market isn't saturated, it's barely even touched yet.

    The question SHOULD be:
"What is your unique selling proposition?"

Because you probably cannot make $50,000 a year off your website. 10 customers at $500 a month is $60,000 a year. THAT'S why.

If you can rank, go for it. You have to remember that the majority of these "SEO services" cannot rank their own sites therefore they prey on newbies who also can't rank their sites.

I can rank my own sites just fine so instead of using up my time by ranking someone else's site, I just focus on my own sites so I can make even more money.

Well, it is never a bad thing to learn something new in the first place. Dip your toes in it at least.

Are you also planning on becoming an SEO expert?

I will tell you one thing, most SEO expert that does the right thing never provide back link reports..

It's good to learn SEO even if you don't want to offer the service or do the job on your site yourself, it will give you an insight of how to choose the best provider out there...

If you're any good, SEO your own sites. Unlimited potential and I don't have to answer to anyone!

Find a profitable model and scale up!

You can literally look at any business and say it is saturated. If you can excel at it and do a good job, then they'll always be customers.. no matter the business

    Right, we get it.

You run an 'awesome' SEO company that utilises news sites.

OP didn't ask people to promote their own service.

The trick is to find a niche and figure out a way to sell your service. Networking for SEO is like any other sales business
