So I ran a backlink check on a PR6 domain I was thinking about buying...

    I was excited to see there were hundreds of links.

    And then I realized all the anchortexts were for porn type things, some of which are borderline illegal.

    Do not want.

    The website was a college website, too.

    wtf happened, did someone get pissed at them and do an XRumer porn blast or something?

    Definitely possible. Negative SEO and all that. Though it is funny it being a college site.... Guy dropped out to take up IM and wanted revenge for money badly spent?

    Wow that's a great idea. Negative SEO on an old college's website that scams their students and conceals the fact they aren't accredited or recognized... Also I can see negative SEO getting out of hand, what about people who have a bad experience with a small restaurant or product? I bet there are people out there who will take things seriously and go over board. Google needs to prevent these things quickly.
