iPage sent this email to former customers who've moved on to better hosts, but I can't say no to $1 for 1 year hosting, I was just starting a new project anyway :)

Apparently anyone can sign up for this discount, they don't actually check if you even were a customer.

    check following link:

    Code:
    http://www.ipage.com/popups/265
for those using this, it would be nice if you would enter my username, pyrokinetic, in the referral field :)
no hard feelings if you don't though

    hope this helps out someone

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

    I also receive this email.

    Very useful to others.

Note: ipage doesnt use CPanel on their hosting. They use their own web panel.

Care to tell us why? I googled it and it seems that there are indeed a number of users who found wordpress sites are slow on ipage (plus cron jobs aren't supported). But do you know the reason why it would be slow?

I've used ipage and they are slow as f*ck! I have a 3 year hosting contract with them and I already switch to hostgator after 3 months. Even if you use cloudflare, cache and other speedy plugins, it will be slow.. Good luck!

is normal to be super slow, you can't offer something good with 1$/year, probably they will force you to upgrade to something more expensive

Was the domain included for you guys?
It seemed like they wanted to charge me $15 for it so I went for the hosting alone
