So i was in IM heavy last year or so then I got a job because everybody pressured me it was the right then to do because it was consistent money.

Ok I get a job working at cell phone insurance company working call center. I liked it there easy job..

So I thought I could do my IM on the side, but it didnt happen that way. Never had the time to get into a routine. Everyday i was thinking to myself, man I'm to smart to be working for someone else and I day dreamed about the money that I make at my 9-5 job every week I could make online in 1-2 days. Kinda was pissing me off.

Also I got tired of all the favoritism going on, lying supervisors and you know the rest..o and the ass kissers.

But anyway everyday I thought man this is crazy I hate working for someone and thinking about the money I use to make with IM even if it was 1k or so a month.

But anyway I gets fired for my attendance and get walked out. I told them thank god, I been waiting for this day for a long time They seemed confused and I told them I do online marketing and make way more money online and didnt have the time to do it since I was working here.

But anyway after 2 years I'm back. I promised myself I never going corporate again. I may get a part time job but who knows. I like being out and about.. But I'm never working fulltime again for someone else unless it big bucks involved.

Employers dont give a fuck about you. You sweat to make them look good and they just throw you out..

But anyway wish me luck.. I'm going to start out making $400 a week online which seems like a easy goal and go from there.

Them firing me was probably the best thing to happen to me in last 2 years. I was so happy. It was crazy how people was hustling in there for a measly 10$ a hour...

I'm going to work on IM and getting my certifications.. A+ and Microsoft certified before the end of year and learn graphics..They just unleashed the beast in me.

Wish me luck. Im going to be doing alot of reading and implementing over the next few days to get back on track and I promise Im never leaving again. Working a fulltime job sucks

    Good Luck.

I'm in similar shoes as you (kinda). I make some money in IM but everyone is pressuring me into getting a "real" job.

I could be making more money in a real job, I have an accounting degree but I don't really want to work for someone else. I'm trying real hard to make as much money as I would as an accountant so everyone would shut up and then make even more :)

I have the same "get-a-real-job" pressure on me as well. And I made a promise to myself that I will never work for others again. I am sure no matter how big my struggle now is, In the future, I will thank myself that I continued to work online building passive income streams that will make me money for years even if I stop working on this.

Good luck Militaryiv, now you have the time and motivation that you need, I am sure you will do better this time and will not hear "get a job" words again.

I've been going to school fulltime and I've had my family, friends pressure me to get a real job. The reason I got into IM'ing and automated income is so I could do school work while paying the bills. It ended up brining in a little more than paying the bills and WAAAAY more than I'd ever earn at a job. They however, still insist I need to get a job that I can go into everyday to earn money. I don't understand. Probably never will.

As I seen on the preview of Wall Street 2, Michael Douglas says something like, "Sometimes I think, "Am I crazy?" but then I ask myself, "... Or is just the rest of the world crazy?"

I hope everything works out well for you. For some, FT IM works great. For others, it's PT at best and PTPT for most others. Working a real job works because we put 8-hours/day into it. If you put that much time into anything, it will work for you - including a relationship.

As for me, I do IM and FT job at the same time. I am making more money with IM but I can not scale up my methods to a point to replace my job + ins + retirement + benefits. Besides that, you should see how much debt I am knocking out by having two good incomes.

Count your blessings and thank God for them. They are not guaranteed.

my life is similar... I worked my whole life in IM... someone told me I should get a "real" job... so I did, and tried to work on my IM projects.. but I was very tired, I came home directly to my bed, woke up and worked again..

Life is to short for being a slave... even IM can eat half of your life... if you can, go outside and try to find a balance between IM and life.
Why are you making these MS certificates? I made one, (70-270), but I have never needed / used this cert, and Windows XP is dead.. so it was wasted time and money. ok back to work :)..

I am learning now for my captain licence, .. when I have my boat (in 100 years?) I want to know how to use it... ;)

IM is a full time job, it is just that you work for yourself and maybe with a lot of others if you actually have a company or companies like I do. It is much better than working as a corporate droid, but as far as freedom goes, if freedom means doing recreational pursuits most of the time, I am not sure this is the right business either. If you want to be a playboy, you need a rich wife, not IM, I think. The lone wolf aspect of most peoples' IM mindset also sets them up for failure. I think to do best you have to build a business or preferably a set of businesses that will last, and there has to be more than just you working on it. You will never be able to take a vacation or find time to think and expand if you are doing every last thing yourself. You have to learn to outsource, hire, and partner.

Good luck man, I just quite my job. Full time in IM from now on. To just take action is the best thing you can do.

    Regards,
    Mark

Your in a unique situation my friend. Many small businesses would love to use your services. Think payroll and quarterlies. This I know from experience. Many don't want to spend the money on a brick and mortar firm for rudimentary accounting work like that. An added plus is you can set your own hours with this.
