Okay, so I got this email today from a certain Mrs. Patricia Zulu Akanni. Yeah it's a Nigerian scam alright, which is wrong in so many levels:

First of all, the subject line reads 'Dearest in Christ' and goes on to claim that her late husband was a pastor who deposited $5.5 million to a bank account in London. Number 1 - Do not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain. Number 2 - How the heck does a pastor amass $5.5 million? The irony here is my dad's actually a pastor. And well, he hardly could pay for my tuition fees back when I was in college. I had to apply for scholarship.

And she goes on to quote Exodus 14:14, screw you.

Anyway, I thought it might make an interesting share here in the Lounge. After all the money making and the backlinking and the spamming and the scamming and the traffic and the autoblogging, one needs a little something to cool the sweat off.

Here's the email in full, copied from my spam folder:

    Dearest in Christ,
I am Mrs Patricia zulu Akanni. I am married to the late timothy
Akanni who worked as chief electoral officer and pastor before he died in
    the year 2006.
We were married for eleven years without a child. in a plane crash. Before
his death we were both born again Christians.Since his death I decided not
to re- marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is
When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $5.5 Million
U.S.Dollars) with a bank in London.Presently, this money is still with the
BANK.Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next two
months due to cancer problem.Though what disturbs me most is my stroke
Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to church or
better still a christian individual that will utilize this money the way I
    am going
to instruct here in.I want a church that will use this to fund churches,
orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the
    house of God is maintained.
The Bible made us to understand that Blessed is the hand that giveth. I
took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this
money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my
husband's hard earned money to be misused by unbelievers.
I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly
manner Hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not afraid of
death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the
bossom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case
and I shall hold my peace.
I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my
health, because of the presence of my husband's relatives around me
always.I don't want them to know about this development. With God all
things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the
    contact of the
    BANK in .
I willalso issue you a letter of authority that will empower you as the
original- beneficiary of this fund. I want you and the church to always
pray for mebecause the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived
alife of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must
serve him in spirit and truth. Please always be prayerful all through your
    life.and any
delay in your reply will giveme room in searching for a church or
christian individual for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will
act accordingly as I stated here in.
Hoping to hear from you with the following details:
    1.full name, 2.address, 3.age,, 5.occupation, 6.religion
on my personal email address: pazulu(at)secretarias(d0t)com
Remain blessed in the name of the Lord.
    Yours in Christ.

I guess once they get ahold of your email address, they just keep spamming you again and again, like we're that stupid to fall for it. I too receive similar emails time and again, but of course not as much as you do.
