So for past few months I was busy with either travelling or working on other projects, so today I decided to check back on how things were going as these sites at the start were refusing to rank. Surprisingly 3 of these sites with minimum age 5 months and maximum around a year are ranking pages that I had not built any links to but the pages I had posted quality backlinks to have still refused to rank. This tells me 3 things, 1. Google is giving more weight to homepage or side pages rather then where the link is going. So for example supporting article gets the juice but the entire sites benefits from it. So it is more domain based. 2. Things are super slow now, I left these sites for months and from what I can tell this movement happened this month. 3. A lot of it is onpage and trust based now. Age develops trust but ONpage, providing the information that the user wants helps it even more. I would like to know from you active SEOers what are you noticing nowadays? I am going to test the above theory by sending PBN links to homepage and see what happens.
