Development Question: If I were to show a development team a website whose look and functions I need replicated, how long and/or how difficult is that to do?!?

I have had this development team working 3 months of a mother f&*^%ing program and the crap they gave me as a demo today was worse than what I can make on freaking WordPress in 4 hours.....

What the hell is wrong with people? How long should something like a website/function replication take?!?

Obviously it depends totally on what the site actually does. For example, www.google.com looks pretty simple, no? :D

I do see your point, but even if the functions were a bit of work the design is so poor nobody would even care to sign up to use the functionality. Let's say a simple template generation website like Apps Geyser. That's similar in complexity to what I was hoping to create (not the same but similar complexity).... am I way off on thinking paying these guys a retainer for 3 months, 8hrs of work a day, that this should be easy to do with graphic treatment that doesn't look like Windows 95?!?

Or am I pushing too hard on my expectations?

From what you 're saying, I guess you just didn't pick the right team. And by saying "right" I 'm referring to the correct combination of skill/cost.

Maybe you tried to low-ball the project too much?

    lol, i'm a webmaster/programmer :3 what u need replicated?

No your not pushing expectations. All good programmers retired now. My boss was a good programmer, one of the best I ever seen, He could pretty much write anything in any language, hes like 40 and from Indonesia. I'm guessing he spent 30 years of his life programming.

Then he fired me, that bastard. my code was "messy" fucking perfectionist.

Paying pretty well, but dealing with a bit of a language issue because I had to use someone overseas due to pipeline back up of onshore development teams. Eh, who knows. I'll get it put together somehow. Just more time, more money.
