I have an internet business that caters to a very narrow market -- professionals in a specific kind of online business.

I've messed around with google and fb ads, and have been pretty underwhelmed by my results. maybe im just bad at picking keywords but I felt i really wasn't hitting my target audience.

Because the service i offer is kind of considered blackhat in my industry, most of the industry-specific forums won't even sell me ad space, and won't allow discussion of what I do at all on their forums. There are maybe 4 forums that cover all of my target customer base.

So basically, what im looking for is someone that can come up with a marketing plan that I think will work, and execute it for me.

Its hard to say, not knowing what your product is. However, you can take some lessons from companies that sell life insurance. Their product is something that marketers consider to be 'unsought' meaning that people don't look for it, they have to put it in people's faces and let them know why they need it. I'm guessing that if your market is really niche then your potential market don't know that your services exist and therefore your product is unsought.

The most cost effective way to get your product out there is to directly contact your potential clients. Send them an email, then call them and harass them until they know that your service can help their bottom line.

OK i should probably provide more details i guess.

On April 15th, 2011 the DOJ started a crackdown on internet poker in the US. The end result of that crackdown was that almost every reputable internet poker site was closed to players coming from the US.

There are a lot of people who played internet poker professionally. Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, in the US.

What i provide for them is a VPN service that can get around all the detection methods in the online poker clients, an off-shore address, and all the documentation to prove that they "live" at the offshore address.

So i kind of have the opposite problem as the life insurance guy. The forum members are really interested in what i have to sell, the forum owners just don't want them finding out about it. Like when i sneak a post on and it stays up for a couple of hours, it usually get me a sale and a couple of leads.

I saw in another thread that paid "forum posters" are a thing. Maybe difficult, and maybe too black hat, since the mods of the forums definitely dont want the info on there, but that might be a solution. Of course, they would have to constantly repost and create new accounts after they were banned.
