I just got and hit and it threw my car off the road down a step hill and I didn't even want to get medical help since I didn't feel bad, yet the person who hit me claims to be hurt real bad yet she looked perfectly fine.

So are we supposed to lie for insurance money, I've never done it and never will.

Rape insurance companies IMO. If you are in the US, the attorney will send you to a chiropractor. If you can go to an appointment once a week, you could bank at least $5k. It's a total scam but fuck insurance companies especially if it isn't your fault. Mine just raised my monthly payment from $150 to $170. Haven't had a speeding ticket in 5 years and haven't been in an accident in 10. Fuck them.

The problem is you may feel fine, but depending on the injury may not tomorrow. That is why you should get checked out to document even minor injuries. If you can't prove they happened in the accident, good luck getting an insurance company to pay out.

I have been in a few 'fender benders' and a couple wrecks. One wreck I was rolled off the road and my car tumbled down a hill. I was young, said I was fine. And gt towed. The next day, however, I had bad blisters on my hands (Holding the steering wheel too tight), a bruise on my chest, slight trouble breathing and was sore everywhere. Not exactly tip top shape.

The other time, I was turning left and a woman decided to floor it who was stopped. Hit the drivers side. Got an ambulance to check me out. I was fine that time, but refused to make the same mistake twice. The first wreck set me back quite a bit physically and I couldn't get insurance to cover any sort of physical therapy so I went without. Can't say it caused any serious injuries as I boxed at the time and am all messed up in general, but because I can't say for sure, I wont risk it again.

    EDIT:

Don't get me started on paying for insurance. First wreck a semi slammed on its brakes while it was raining and splashed a whole lotta water on my windshield. This caused me to hydroplane off of a steep hill without side rails. Insurance company said I was at fault because I should have been going slower on the highway (I was going under the speed limit) during weather hazards.

The second time I was told neither party was at fault because the police did not issue the woman a ticket (Her husband owner a car dealership and they just so happened to know her by name and referred to her as 'MRS. XXX' when they got to the scene, without asking for identification). Due to this I did not get compensation for my vehicle, but her husband just gave her a new car. The manager at the dealer offered to 'help' but that was giving me a 'discount' on the doors. No thanks!

Meanwhile, my insurance rates went through the roof for each incident. I say, screw the insurance companies.

you may experience problems down the line due to things that occurred during the accident, and you cant claim those after
also insurance companies try their hardest not to pay out so i would not feel bad claiming for more than i need from insurance especially when insurance companies can raise premiums with no explanation, and deny claims for the smallest reasons

My buddy rear ended somebody a couple of months ago, he has a truck so it mangled the back pretty bad.

We got out and asked the two middle-aged ladies inside if they were fine, and the driver was like "Aww man, I just got this car! But yes, I'm fine. Just rattled, etc etc.". The passenger, however, was clearly milking it

We went to the collision report building (or whatever) because the cops were nice and didn't want to charge my friend, as it was wet/rush hour and stuff.

We get there and the ladies come strolling in after, the one " milking it" still doing her thang. She sits down all slow, complains about having a headache and that she can't feel her legs (how'd she walk in?). She was clearly fine, why wouldn't you go directly to a hospital/clinic if you are THAT injured?

So I guess it's a morality sort of situation, the driver knew what was up and just wanted to get through things properly. Her friend saw things differently, more like an opportunity to squander some cash.

I found out that where I live a ticket is optional to pay if I don't want to drive anymore here under a u.s. system license. And since the u.s. system isn't connected to another country, If I get a license in another country after I move I can still drive in the USA when I visit without being on a suspended license.

Don't play that game. You don't want cops hassling you over a suspended license when you have control over the situation. Just pay a lawyer and have it fixed. My lawyer charges me $100 for a speeding ticket and gets it dropped. Traffic attorneys are vultures but they aren't expensive.

But a suspended license is only on ones that they can issue, they can't suspend a license from another system+country.

Right, but your original license was suspended. I wouldn't play that game. I forgot to pay a ticket and the attorney charged me $20 extra to have it fixed. Is it really worth going to jail over $20? The cops can take you to jail and say "Oh, oops, our bad" and release you. When do you ever think it will be convenient? It's not gonna be when you have all the time in the world. It's gonna be when you're driving to your mom's funeral or something. All for a ticket? Not even worth it.

You really need to learn when to pick your battles.

I'm going to start ordering things online if I have to pay for it. If I order my new laptop which is going to be $2,500 online vs at a local store it would cover as much as $218 of the ticket.
