    Hi all.
I was reverse engineering a competitor who was ranking #1 for a somewhat competitive keyword, with very few backlinks and very little content.

I decided to look at the links that were pointing to the domain, and I came across several links with a link format that I haven't seen too often, and I'm wondering how it is helping them.

To see what I mean search for the links:
    links hxxp:// debtsolution.g23.www2.secretariasc. com.br/ WITH SPACES REMOVED
    Their money site is: ccrnowDOTcom/

I have also noticed they are changing out keywords from this domain: for example in the above example, "debt solution" is the keyword they are ranking for, I have found other keywords they are tying to rank for and the keyword is always in that same spot.

All I know is that they are ranking #1 with very little going for their website, and a lot of their inbound links are from this screwy URL. Anybody have an idea what they're doing and why it works? If we can figure it out, we might all get a nice little boost.

    Thanks!

Well, it sure smacks of blog farm to me cap'n. It looks relatively large. I wouldn't really jump into building one right off if I was you, but those backlinks are originating from a farm of auto-blogs that exist on various subdomains across this blog network.

I would guess there is some kind of WPMU installations being used here, and an ************** of pre-set plugins. But so, stuff like this will get you scratching your head a little bit, right?

I mean there certainly isn't all that much going on within the TLD for the ccnow site. Even if you look at the blog, it doesn't add that much depth to the overall site, and yet as you mentioned - it ranks #1 for an extremely competitive term. hmm...

OK though ... some stuff to consider. The auto-blogs that are setup are all basically monetized with adsense. Those are likely paying a decent return for somebody as well. If these are tightly niched, and they appear to be, then they may each rank relatively well on their own with some internal bookmarking functions, and some automated article submission softwares.

And there is actually quite a bit of content on each auto-blog, so these are highly optimized link farms with solid cover that are well liked by search engines.

Good stuff. Thanks for pointing it out. Although, I don't think you're supposed to just be outing people's pages like that.
