    Anyone attended.
    $3600 for 3 days.
    Was it worth it?

Few points here or there, discussion on Penguin, Seo Moz celebration (sold for $100 million), cruise, drinks...
Nothing that major that you would expect.
Good to hang out with The Names of the industry.

Yeah if you make a living out of SEO definitely worth it.
If you are small player, struggling, it would be a waste.

    3.6k?

Damn thats expensive. At the same time seems like an amazing opportunity to learn a lot of great stuff and meet a lot of smart SEO people.

I'd definitely go once I have my cash flow up and make 10grand a month.

Wow so dear! But if we can make more than 3.6K out of this talk, worth it. Please can anyone reporting back if attended the similar talks before? and what did you learn from it better than in this forum? : P

Depends how much you know, I knew almost everything they were talking about :) Few points were helpful.
I find it that it is more a good marketing to get their names out, and get new clients.
Good thing is that they all are drunk asses that have been Friends for a number of years, so visiting same event over and over again you could easily infiltrate yourself into this "close" circle.

I am talking about SEO MOZ, Search Engine Land...

    so did you actually go?

I would of If I'd known about it. I have to spend about 10K a year on "staff training", and my hometown is Sydney, so it would have been a great little rort. were drinks/entertainment included in the cost?

yeah I was there, drinks, food, boat cruise...

There is another one in Melbourne in few months. Google it: smx sydney, smx melbourne

If your staff is totally new to the subject, there is rookie training, cheap, maybe $300 - $400, SEO basics.

No offence, but if you're a n00b and managed to find your way here and register, then you're probably better off learning from this forum.

not for my staff - for me. And not to really learn anything.
I'm not from the accounts side of the business so don't know the exact details, but you get some kind of tax break for "staff training", so we need to spend about 12K a year on it.
Our accountant says we can't keep using it on holidays to new places (we're travel agents)

    @rippy

I just googled it and CANNOT see myself in that picture at the top. plus I could only see about 4 women in the whole image. Now looking at the standard of guys there I can see the competition wouldn't be that hard, but the ratio still must be about 400/1.

I use to be in sales and marketing in the tourism sector and conferences in that field were virtually drunken orgies
