Has anyone here used SMTP services? How reliable are they?
I heard you have to fill out survey/application in order to get approved. Whats a general approval rate?

As I am not allowed to post URL/domain yet, please add the extension after SMTP

    Please advise. Thanks

SMTP is the name for a email protocol (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and SMTP services are offered by many providers - so unless you give us who you are specifically talking about, it's not possible to give an opinion.

Just to be sure, I googled 'SMTP services' just to be sure there wasn't a company going by that name and didn't find any...

Tested so far SMTP. com and Socketlabs. Here my experience:
    - I used the SMTP.com shared server as well as the dedicated server
-- In general their service seems to be a little bit messy sometimes (server down, wrong configuration,..), but if you want to send out more 'spammy emails' and lists with high bounce rates, then they are good to go.
    - Socketlabs is far more professional, but if you don't follow the can spam rules (include physical address, add unsubscribe link,..) then they will freeze your account or they will ban you. They will also complain if your bounce rate is too high.
