"Federal prosecutors have been circling Tether since at least 2018. In recent months, they sent letters to individuals alerting them that they’re targets of the investigation, one of the people said. The notices signal that a decision on whether to bring a case could be made soon, with senior Justice Department officials ultimately determining whether charges are warranted."

This coupled with increased chatter about regulating stablecoins from officials could mean we may actually see some action taken soon-ish.

If you're holding tether for some reason or are on a tether pegged exchange keep a close eye on what is unfolding.

Stable coins should exist for consumption only. I don't see any reason to hold onto a token that loses value in time. If USDT goes, nobody should be worried. There are 10 other USD pegged coins you can use.
