So I came across this article talking about a kick-starter campaign for a "Public(in a sense)" Telescope so I figured I would share it with you. I can't share links but if your put kick-starters url (or google "ARKYD Kick starter") and then /projects/1458134548/arkyd-a-space-telescope-for-everyone-0?ref=category the campaign should show up. Anyway I thought this was awesome because it lets you actually use the telescope and take "selfies" they also have it to where if you donate $1,500+ you can choose a school and they will let that school use the telescope to look out at the universe. The goal is $1,000,000 and it's only been 2 days and they are already at a little more then $500,000. I assume they are doing this to make the cost of the load being sent in to space a little less of a burden on them, while also giving back to everyone. Either way the support has been amazing, and it's great pr for Planetary Resources (The company that is going the kickstarter) it wouldn't surprise me if this was the start of crowd funded satellite launches n stuff. What do you guys think of it?
