This is not my main project but I'll give it enough love. I'm going to take it slowly and yet, I'll update this journey with every activity I'll take or some other significant issue.

The goal is to have a small site that provides value to the reader around a specific topic.
A constraint for that goal is that eventually it will have a positive cash flow.

I'm thinking to monetize it with adsense and amazon when suitable. It's not expected to make me millions - far from that.

Initial plan is to have about 20-30 posts... but as we progress, it might turn into a regular blog that grows with time.

Content will be written by a professional writer that is qualified for the niche. Not Cheap!

This is a white hat project and planned to last for the long run. Any off-site activity will be done in later stages, once the site looks nice.

What I have done so far:

    - A brief keyword research - just to make sure there's enough traffic on the topic and to generate a list of ideas to have articles around them.

Let's see if slow and steady really wins the race :)

    - Bought a new domain that have never been used.

    - Installed wordpress

    - Installed a premium theme

    What is next:

    - Start receiving content from the writer I hired and publish the posts.
    - Contact the designer I usually work with to give the site some professional and warm look.

Thanks. It's definitely part of a big niche. Think about the big niche as real estate. I chose to concentrate on few of elements from that niche.

    Thanks. me too ;)

    Thanks

Get into social networking, buy 20 private proxies and make 20 accounts on Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter.

Then add/follow people who are following or like people of pages in your niche, this is a great way to boost your social engagement, traffic and the whole professional look about your site.

I guess you missed some points in my original post. This is a white hat project. First I'm going to have solid foundations of great content and only then will think of any off-site actions. In addition, at the moment there's nothing to boost as the first piece of content for the home page is expected to be ready on Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks. It's a good point. In my case the writer I hired has a name, picture and a personal blog. It's all genuine and I'm familiar with the stuff that this writer produces.

    Thanks.

    Update

    During the weekend

Added the site to Webmaster Tools
    Added to Analytics
Created the categories and placed them in the navigation bar
Added a plugin for readers to subscribe to new posts

    Today

I received the intro text from my writer. Added it to the front page.
Set the site with a static front page.
Contacted the designer for logo/header. I hope to get a logo ready this week.

I plan to have a new post once a week but in the beginning, if the posts will be ready I'll go with twice a week in order to give the blog more meat.

That's a nice plan and flow well!

I just curious what is the rate of your writer?

It seems you've used static page for homepage; how many keywords are you targeting in homepage?

Anyways, wish you the best with your journey!

Writer's rate is $45 per post - I know some of you are shocked from the rate but my definition of quality is not grammar and spelling... it is way beyond. For example, if a writer is known in a niche, his/her value is much more than the text they provide.

I'm not targeting any specific keyword for the static home page. It is more of an introduction that will allow me to brand the site naturally.

    Thanks
