I found an expired domain a month or so ago with links from cnn and wikipedia. Looks pretty clean backlink wise and in archive.org. It doesnt have a massive amount of links and they are all for the domain or brand (no keywords).

I stuck a basic wordpress site on there with 2 1000 word articles and left it at that.

But after a month webmaster tools still says 0 pages indexed, <10 queries & 1 click. So Im starting to wonder is the expired domain penalized.

However, a search for site:mydomain.com shows all the pages.

Has anyone seen similar? What do you think, add more content, build some links or noindex it and reuse the content?

#9 for the brand and #4 & #8 for post titles

Did you checked if the domain was already sandboxed? That could be a reason that your domain is not indexed.
