New Skype Skype Group for noobs, just add your Skype ID below and join the discussion on how to Skype.

j/k There is no Skype group, just getting fed up with all the threads announcing yet another Skype group.

Skype Groups are killing the forum as it is taking the discussion off of BHW
Of course skype groups have uses but now it seems some people are just joining BHW to join a bloody skype group.
Noobs seem to be getting sucked into some groups run by clowns.

Remember people there is an Official BHW IRC Channel

Totally agree. The best place to discuss stuff is right on the forum, that's what it's for after all. And if you want real time chat then IRC is good for that.

I will post on this thread for as long as it takes, we need this one to be a sticky. I'm sick and tired of the "Skype thread this" and "Skype thread that" threads, because for one they take the conversation away from BHW, but more importantly, those groups prevent us from outing a scammer or a jerk taking advantage of newbies with their offers and promotions.

Then what do the new guys do when they get scammed by someone in a Skype group? That's right, they come here and post a shitlist about it. Why not just discuss everything here in the first place for fuck's sake?

Exactly, so many skype groups that are started by anybody, including brand new members.
At least on BHW there is a level of protection.
Noobs are most attracted to these groups because they think secrets will be shared, but more often than not they are being played.
Scammers working together start a Mastermind group and can then easily fleece noobs.
A lot of these skype groups are also full of banned members from BHW so I am actually surprised we don't see more SL's

You can't stop people starting skype groups but how about they use the Group Section to do it.
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/groups/
They start the group there and anybody who wants to join has to join that group first, at least people will be able to see who is a member etc
And at least that way the rest of the forum is kept clear of Skype Group threads.

    This.

Could it be that the noobs don't know what groups are, and that's why they're always heading out to Skype, or because there aren't any "good" groups out there?

Maybe the more experienced guys should start a few groups, like proper groups, e.g. Tommy would have an SEO group and so on  Would literally beat the shit out of all those Skype groups out there.

When I see these Skype groups for newbies only, the question that pops up straightaway is what are they going to learn ? Are they just wanting to bounce untried / untested ideas off each other ? Are they sharing methods / courses that they buy? Or is it a click and bait from a possible scammer, to entice people into a private setting, to pursuade them to buy his/her service or product and then rip off the members.

As mentioned above, people ( especially newbies ) should ask questions on the forum and they'll get access to proper advice and a bit better protection, with scammers being outted in public.

Mate, we've got top of the line security here at BHW.

First, we have Wilson. Nobody gets past him. As soon as someone publishes bull here on BHW his BS alarm goes off and he starts to investigate. In about two hours flat he's on to the bullshitter and exposes him. He also hits the report post button to alert the authorities.

Then we have Ste and Micky, one of whom or both will insult the bullshitter as long as necessary for the authorities to get there, all the while scaring away noobies from posting.

And finally we've got our very own authorities, ranging from Apricot to Jazzc, who will take care of the asshole for good.

See? Couldn't do better with a team of bodyguards.

in addition to what already has been said above: usually those skype groups are formed to discuss tactics against different sites or rfor review exchange and most people forgot that posting in a chatroom isn't any safer than posting on a public forum, especially when you make a thread about the group on a public forum trying to recruit members, these groups can be infiltrated pretty easily, oftentimes even if they aren't full of spammers - haven't seen too many of those - they can hurt more than be useful

Lately people are scamming big time on Skype. And with that, I have never been in a good Skype group, they either spam too much links and talk nonsense or they are left to die out. Forums are a lot better.

This. So much. Virtually all the shitlist threads are coming from deals conducted over skype. We'll do our best to help out wherever we can, but if you've skyped someone with a yellow username on the back of a random post they made and then got scammed as a result, there's really very little we can do to help, except that hope it was a miscommunication that can be resolved.

If it's a Jr VIP who's invested time and money in the forum, has several marketplace threads running and there's a clear outline of what they're going to provide - these tend to be much easier to resolve. Again, no issue with skype groups but I see so many reported PM's where the very first suggestion is to take it offline.

For me, the two things I'd tell a newbie are:

    1. Look at the account. If someone's been on the forum for 2 weeks with 22 posts and you send them $100 for a service, how easy is it going to be for them to walk away from that account if they can't provide the service? Someone with hundreds or thousands of posts over several years has invested into the forum - they're not going to want to walk away without making a good effort to get it resolved. It's not foolproof and bad luck can hit anyone but it'll save you from 95% of the chancers out there.

    2. Keep it on the forum, either in threads or via PM as much as possible. If someone wants to take it offline straight away, you need to be asking why.

Agree. I have no experience in IRC, but am aware that such group chat exists for BHW.

But what do you guys think about Slack? Is BHW considering it or is the IRC enough? Seems like a good platform to use for a forum like ours.

I might have to check out BHW's IRC soon!
