    Heya, mates

I am not sure if this section of the forum is right for my question, and if it isn't, maybe moderators will find more suitable category for this.

Now - I am in need of sites like Twilio which give you free number ( eventually plus the opportunity to call forward to a phone number of your choice), without asking for credit card verification and such.

    - it won't matter if the numbers are from United States
    - even if there isn't call forwarding option, there should be a way to check your voice mails and text messages that you have gotten on your free number
    - the whole thing should happen online, without the need to download software on your desktop or on a smartphone, etc.

I have tried many sites, but I cannot find any site similar to Twilio. So if you can help me out with it, you have my thanks.

    Best regards,
    Axeny

Flowroute was one that I used before and worked well for what I was doing with. When I used them the only way to pay them was threw amazon (Not sure if it is still that way or not). If you start looking more at SIP options then API based options you will find a few services out there that can do what you are looking for, but you will have to run your own SIP gateway some place to handle the calls. Thing is when it comes to API/hosted services they are going to want a CC on file for it all.

Something that I did in the past with Twilio was go and get a prepaid card put the credit on the account from the card and then they let it run till your account is out of money. Not sure if that is an option for you to use Twilio, but just a thought.
