So yesterday, my 2 main money sites got hit by a "Pure Spam" Google penalty.
As you see, the traffic has been butchered on both sites around 12 o'clock yesterday:

I signed up for Google Analytics and added one of the sites and see the dreadful message:

My sites are the classic "fake hacking sites" so there's no doubt in regards to what the penalty is for (purely on-site, has nothing to do with backlinks).

Since my sites were earning so well, I'd obviously like to give one hell of an attempt to fix this issue rather than just moving on.

I've been searching around and the way I see it, I got 2 options:

1.
"Fix" the site and request a rereview from Google.
To do this, I guess I should completely remake the sites (removing all unwanted content).
I'm thinking the best and easiest way to do this would be to simply set up a good looking blog with some articles.

2.
301 magic. 301 redirects are a bit hit and miss but in this case I'd do a double 301 redirect from domain A->B->C and simply copy the original site to domain C.
I guess I would register new domains for domain B and C but keep the brand (eg. brandname.com -> brandname.org -> brandname.net).

Which scenario has the biggest likelihood of working?
What would you suggest?

If you decide to go with the first method, remember to clear your server cache or to wait 1-2 days before you submit the request to google. They denied my request (even if at that time all was fine with the site), only because the update wasn't propagated on their end.

Is it deindexed or still indexed? 2nd method for sure, i got it working one time and site was ranking for a 1+ year.
Seems like a mass ban, in my niche top 10 got wiped the fuck out.

I'm on the same situation , I tried to apply but they refused it but I only changed a bit my content my next step is to change all my content and my design. Let me know if you do something and it works

you can only get it unbanned if you make it real and put some value to it. fake hack sites always get banned

I am in the same situation, I got email from google regarding reconsideration request.
I don't know what I have to do?
Wait 1 month , delete all toxic content and upload some legit articles from another niche. Send the request.

Do you know how Google detect kind of these sites? Mine two gor hit on Friday too :/
There must be something on our sites which makes red lights blinking in Google’s eyes. Anyone know what?

Thanks, I'll make sure to wait for the changes to propagate.

To clear up any confusion, no my sites are NOT deindexed. But they are not ranking for anything (not even the brand names themselves).

I guess I will start off with method #1 (submitting for rereview), since I can try to 301 if it gets rejected anyways.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should put on my site?
Does the blog with articles sound good?

My thinking is that I will make the site 100% whitehat and innocent during the review and then implement the old site again if it gets approved.

It doesn't metter what content you use as long as is unique and respects their TOS.

LOL guys, more and more threads about this. What kind of cleanup is this? Someone reported all websites to Google or what? I am pretty sure Google doesn't give a crap about some small fishes in the sea with gaming hacks.

Maybe lol , but a lot of people started doing it now and maybe google decided to vanish them

Are you saying that many people started in the gaming hack niche or that many started to report sites? :))

As for OP: I would go for the second option.

When you’re site deindexed, 301 Magic is useless for you.

Better fix your site, disavow all the bad links then ask for Review.

Or you can buy new domain and setup new site.

Thanks For the information but can u please confirm way this happened ? due to people reporting? or google bot detect my site automatically?
Thanks.
there is no way to know for sure. I think it can be combination of both (more than few people reported which trigger manual review..)

Its in the screenshot your provided in the first post "Manual actions" mate. So if you think that you cannot pass manual review (and yeah in this niche its damn hard to do so), better to move on.
