This week I have noticed a bunch of my sites take a nose dive, sites that were not affected too much by penguin or panda as they weren't overly optimized but had decent rankings from basic seo work.

Then this week i notice some of them have totally dropped from the first 10 pages from being in the top 5 results.

    I am wondering why....

I am thinking the only issue with them is they all use the same wp theme, the domains are registered under my name etc, could this be an issue? Anyone seen similar things lately?

I've been on a decline since about a week for 2 sites that were #1. Almost every day it's a dance up 2 and down 3. Thought I was alone.

I think your site DE-indexing, are you add your site in Google analytic? if added, so check it.

This has happened to me as well. One of my sites that was at #2 for an international term dropped. Not sure why.

I doubt they would be de indexed.. it's not part of a network as such, well sort of but they are optimized separately and I lease the rankings to local businesses. They are not interlinked, so I don't know why they would be deindexed but who knows.

To be honest, they are pretty light on content, but the ones in mention did not get hit by panda or penguin, only recently have they had issues.

I dropped analytics from all my sites earlier in the year after the updates.

There has been another mass de-indexing going on, especially with the public link networks, and these de-indexations are affecting rankings all over the place. Google tweaks their algorithm daily/weekly and they don't always announce when a major algo change occurs. All of these factors may have affected your rankings.

Actually I think you could be right, allot of those sites had links from a free seo campaign thing from a company, it worked well previously but since you say that I notice the sites affected are the ones with them....

I know the whois of their network couldn't be tracked but they did have allot of sites hosted in the 1 place... It goes to show you have to be extremely careful not leaving any footprints when creating networks, even link footprints on how the network is structured.. hmm I will see how things progress over the next few weeks.
