First: we received the WMT message regarding unnatural links.

after two weeks, all of our #1 sites we're de-rank and the worst is one of my site (the homepage) was deindexed in Big G but the other pages are still indexed

    Link diversity.

Stop building too many links from x source because it works best.

I.e some people see ALN links work good, so most of their link building campaigns are of ALN submissions :) Then they wonder why google finds their websites to have un-natural links.

Nothing to do now but to start over! All the best!

    tl;dr

MIX THE LINKS! social, comment, edu, profile, gov, contextual, web 2.0, doc sites etc.

Link diversity doesnt make a difference. I have one site that is 4 years old with diverse links and never used blog networks until the last couple of months. Got the message a coupe of weeks ago and today the site is now in page 3/4 for keywords that were no.1! So as long as your site was touched by those blog network links then doesnt make a difference if you have a wide diversity in links or not, age, auth etc etc.

Build enough ALN links directly at your site and unless you are a really big auth site then you are in trouble.

Link diversity will matter when you rebuild (I think that was IamNRE's point), but of course do it in a natural way (or what appears to be). It's just an algorithmic penalty and recoverable.

It has always been known that G is against paid links, so a penalty at some point is the risk you take if you buy them.
